May 26 Update

Jefferson Families,

In accordance with the latest MDHHS Order, wearing masks outdoors will be optional for students and staff. Parents and guardians may still choose to have their children wear masks outdoors. The Order includes athletic events and practices for students, staff and spectators alike. You can review the MDHHS guidance by clicking on this link: https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98178_98455-559589--,00.html

As outlined in our approved mitigation plan, the wearing of face masks will continue to be required by all students and staff in South Redford schools or buildings while indoors. All gatherings and physical distancing requirements remain in place as well. We have made this decision through the end of the school year out of an abundance of caution for our students and staff, including those not yet eligible to be vaccinated.

As we have said throughout the pandemic, we will continue to consult the Wayne County Health Department and the MDHHS to make decisions that are in the best interest of keeping everyone safe in our school community. As we approach the end of the school year, we will continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19 and communicate whenever necessary.
